Victorian Old Mine Diamond Solitaire Ring 14k c. 1880
Victorian Old Mine Diamond Solitaire Ring 14k c. 1880
This is a late Victorian ring, holding a central Old Mine cut diamond weighing approximately .35ct, set in a belcher setting of 14k gold and made circa 1880. I love the patina this old gold has gotten over the years, it's very rich and offsets the soft sparkle of this diamond very nicely. This style of ring makes for a great antique engagement ring but it doesn't have to be engagement, I have many customers that wear rings like this on other fingers alone or stacked with other rings---there are many options, don't be scared when you see a solitaire vintage ring that it has to be for an engagement!
Currently size 8.75 and can be resized as needed. One resizing provided, please allow one week.
Stamped with barely legible "14k" and illegible maker's mark. Tested for metal content.
Contains one natural Old Mine Cut diamond weighing approximately .35ct with K-L Color and SI1 Clarity.
In very good vintage condition. This ring has been reshanked, meaning a thicker band has been added to the base of the ring. This usually is done on an antique ring when the band of the ring gets too thin at the bottom. The reshanking was done by a skilled hand and looks great.
