Rare Arts & Crafts Newlyn School Enamel Pendant Sterling c. 1900
Rare Arts & Crafts Newlyn School Enamel Pendant Sterling c. 1900
A beautiful, very rare enamel pendant from the Newlyn School, an Arts & Crafts era colony of artists in Cornwall, England who were known for their naturalistic painting and the influence of the nearby fishing village of Newlyn on their works. Some absolutely exquisite enamel came from the Newlyn School and here we have one exception example that has come from the estate of a serious Arts & Crafts collector. Please use the magnifier feature on the photos to really zoom into that enamel--the layering, the texture, the vibrance--and it is all in perfect condition! Made circa 1900 in sterling silver with an antique chain. An amazing addition to any collection!
Pendant measures 2 x 1 1/4" including bale. Chain measures 18" length.
Not stamped or signed but tested for metal content and firmly attributed to the Newlyn School.
In excellent antique condition!!
