Mid-Century Old Cut Marquise 1.62ct Diamond Engagement Ring 14k c. 1950
This is about as perfect a Mid-Century engagement ring as you're likely to see folks! Made circa 1950's, this gorgeous ring holds a central 1.62ct Marquise Cut natural diamond, prong set up high like the most beautiful martini glass you've ever seen and flanked by two tapered baguettes set in 14k white gold. This diamond graded GSI1 by GIA and I feel like they were a little hard on the clarity because this baby is CLEAN! Just a couple of teeny tiny little feathers under the prongs at one tip. This is an old cut Marquise, meaning it has a culet and its proportions are less angular and sharp than a modern cut Marquise. What does this mean? This means you get much more dispersion--or rainbow sparkles--that you would a modern cut and the sparkle is softer. It is quite beautiful and if you've never seen an old cut Marquise before you should come on in and see this one. It's just utterly glamorous, I can't stop putting it on and looking at it! If you're the next one to wear this beauty then congratulations, because you're going to spend the rest of your life getting big time compliments on your ring!
