Brutalist Figural Brooch Sterling, Aharon Bezalel c. 1960
This is a petite Brutalist brooch in gilt sterling silver by Israeli sculptor Aharon Bezalel circa 1960. I've been told this piece is called Adam and Eve, but to me it looks like two figures standing on two cats. Which doesn't make it any less good! If you're a cat lover it might even bump it up a notch. Pieces by this artist are highly collectible and are harder than ever to find now that Brutalism is once again in the spotlight.
Measures 1 1/2 x 1 1/8".
Weighs 7 grams.
Stamped "925" and tested for metal content.
Slight wear to gold wash in areas, pin back in good working condition.
