SOLD--Art Nouveau Ruby, Sapphire and Pearl Honeymoon Brooch 10k c. 1900
THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD.
Truly one of the prettiest honeymoon brooches I've seen, this Art Nouveau era piece contains one natural ruby and five natural sapphires--all of gorgeous color--set within a crescent moon and flower frame with artfully placed seed pearls. Honeymoon brooches were given to a bride and became very popular during the late Victorian/Art Nouveau period. This one is particularly gemmy and really beautifully designed!
Measures 7/8" in diameter. Not stamped but acid-tested for metal content. Illegible maker's mark. All stones in good condition with minor wear typical of age.
