Bavier Brook
Art Nouveau Enamel, Diamond, Ruby and Pearl Brooch 18k c. 1890
Art Nouveau Enamel, Diamond, Ruby and Pearl Brooch 18k c. 1890
Now this is what I think of when I think of the word "jewel", there is something about enamel in fine jewelry that just bumps it up to another, more special level. Made circa 1890, this Art Nouveau brooch features leaves layered with translucent enamel in shades of green and peach, with two rows of rose cut diamonds. To finish off the gorgeousness there is a pearl berry and a bezel set natural ruby with a pearl and rose cut diamond drop! It is EXQUISITE. Is it large? No, this piece is dainty and delicate but it is about as beautiful an object as you will ever see!
Measures 1 3/8 x 1 1/8".
Not stamped or signed but tested for metal content.
Contains ten rose cut diamonds, two natural pearls and one 3mm natural round cut ruby.
In very good antique condition. Very light enamel loss (not complete) on edges of leaves. Pin back in perfect working condition.
