THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD.
Here I am, loving Art Deco marcasite pieces again! I can't help it, they are so spectacular to me. This bracelet was made in sterling silver circa 1930 and holds four dyed green chalcedony cabochons with marcasite studded links. In the store I'm often asked what is chalcedony? In simple terms, it's a species of quartz with many varieties such jasper, agate, marble and onyx. I'm also asked how you pronounce it and it's "kal-sed-oh-nee". Dyed green chalcedony is meant to imitate the rarer variety of chalcedony called chrysoprase and we see it often in Art Deco era pieces. A little gemological lesson for those who are interested!
Measures 7" length. Measures nearly 5/8" wide at the widest.
Stamped "STERLING" and tested.
All marcasites present and stones in great condition!
