SOLD--Antique Micro Mosaic Brooch, Victorian Moth in 18k c. 1870

This is a spectacular museum quality mid-Victorian micro mosaic brooch of a moth in 18k yellow gold, circa 1860-70.  We feel lucky just to have this piece in the store, what an amazing example of Italian artistry.  The tesserae are vibrantly colored and all intact, including several areas of clear glass with gold foil underneath to add glint and sparkle.  The original t-bar and c-clasp are intact and there is a slight lift to the frame where the t-bar is, but this is hardly noticeable and does not affect the security of the piece.  A rare find and an exceptional piece to add to a collection or to start one--whoever ends up with this beauty will not be disappointed. 

Not stamped or signed but acid tested for 18k.

Measures 1.5" in diameter.

All tesserae are present and in excellent condition.
