Antique Italian Grand Tour 42" Souvenir Chain, Silver c. 1920
Love, love, LOVE these antique Italian chains! I grab them every time I see them, and these super long ones are getting hard to find. Gorgeous and ornate chains like this one were typically purchased as souvenirs from an Italian vacation. This lovely and long chain appears to have been picked up on a trip to Florence, as it features floral links interspersed with noted Florentine art and symbols such as Michelangelo's David, the Lily of Florence, the Marzocco and Donatello's Saint George. Perhaps this chain reminds you of your own special time in Florence? Even if you haven't been, you can still enjoy this beautifully made chain--can be worn long in the Deco style or easily doubled!
Measures 42" length, widest links are 5/8".
Not stamped or signed but tested for 800 or above silver (800 is the Italian standard).
In very good condition with nice patina.
