This pretty and petite pair of earrings were made in the late Victorian era circa 1890 and feature two greyish-white pearls surrounded by a ring of black enamel in 18k gold.  This style of earring, typically French, threads backwards through your ear and closes by hooking the earwire into a little loop on the front.  It can take some getting used to but once you've got the hang of it you are good to go with any style of these earrings!  These would be a great pair of everyday earrings for someone who wears black often and likes a clean, geometric look!

Measure 11/16" or 18mm north to south.

French owl hallmarks and tested for 18k.

There is no way to say whether these are the original pearls.  However the nacre is extremely thick on these pearls indicating that they may be natural and/or of the period.
