SOLD--Victorian Old Mine Diamond 1.01ct Engagement Ring 14k c. 1890
THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD.
This is probably the most incredible Victorian diamond ring that I've seen and I reaaaally want to keep it but this ring is not meant for me and it is trying to find its new owner! This is an Old Mine cut diamond--almost certainly the original stone--weighing approximately 1.01ct with K-L Color and SI2 Clarity set in a 14k yellow gold mounting. The stone gets the clarity grade for some fairly prominent needles that are all the way off near the girdle and which don't affect the absolutely magnificent sparkle in any way. Please see our Instagram feed for this ring in motion! The stone photographed warmer than it is in person and has more of a grey/silver color to it. There are eight bezel set round old cut diamonds in the frame weighing approximately .15ctw. I was surprised not to see a French hallmark on this ring as it has that look! The construction is incredibly solid, the ring feels weighty and the band is thick. I don't know that is has ever been resized and it is tiny right now at 4.25. Stamped "14k" and acid-tested for metal content.
If you've been looking for a Victorian engagement ring, this is THE ONE.
