This piece is so awesome!  What a rarity--this is a Victorian gold-filled locket with a beautiful monogram and lovely little fishing scene on the back.  Open it up and a surprise pops out:  a tiny magnifying glass!  I like to imagine that this piece was owned by some fabulous old jeweler, or maybe by a lady who was a scrupulous jewelry fanatic like myself and my many amazing clients.  Stamped inside "PAT. JUN 5 1877", it isn't too tough to date this piece.  It may sound cliche but I'm going to say it--own a piece of history!

This locket measures 1.75" from the tip of the bail to the bottom of the locket, and 1" at the widest.  Closes tightly and the spring magnifier mechanism works perfectly.  Very little wear to the gold-fill.  Does not come with the chain pictured, but a matching gold-filled chain can be added for an additional charge.
