This Victorian brooch is truly glorious!  Made during the early to mid-Victorian period circa 1850, it is designed as a love knot with foil-backed garnet cabochons in bloomed 15k gold with intricate applied wirework.  It also has a very small crystal compartment for hair or a memento, which at this time just has fabric in it and doesn't appear to have been used.  In fact the condition of this entire brooch is pretty amazing and it's as golden as it appears in the photos!  This is an exquisite example of the high Victorian period and would make a great addition to any collection!

Measures 1.75 x 1.5".

Not stamped or signed but tested for metal content.  Tests between 15-18k.

Garnets intact and in great condition, foil in great condition, bloomed gold in great condition, wirework in great condition, overall this piece is in great condition with one area that appears torn visible only from the back.
