SOLD--Georgian Vinaigrette Fob Charm 18k c. 1820

This sweet little 18k antique urn was most likely used as a vinaigrette in the early 1800's, possibly earlier.  A fragrant material would be placed inside and sniffed as needed to cover up all of the undesirable odors the wearer may encounter on a trip about town.  I think about this occasionally--if I were able to travel back in time, would I be shocked by the smells?  Could I handle it?  I think I would try and take this little beauty with me just in case!  This very special and unusual Georgian heirloom should be worn alone and not stack or layered with other heavy pendants to preserve it for future generations.

Not stamped or signed, tested for metal content.

Condition note:  There is a small tear at the base of the urn.  The piece is stable and the tear isn't scratchy, doesn't catch.
