THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD.

This is a beautiful and delicate example from the first era of mass produced jewelry starting in the late 1800's.  Prior to this fine jewelry was generally owned only by the upper classes.  In the late Victorian period a consumer could buy a pendant like this through a mail order catalog which, if you've never seen one, are so fantastic because there are of course drawings of the jewelry instead of photographs!  This pendant hails from circa 1910 and features natural seed peals framing a sapphire-like blue glass stone, bezel set in 10k yellow gold.  The work is incredibly fine, particularly the hand millegrained bezel and the design is so evocative of the period.  Lovely to wear on its own, or to stack with other necklaces!

Pendant measures 1 3/8" length including bail.  Contemporary gold-filled chain measures 18".

Not stamped or signed but tested for metal content.

Pearls in good condition and all present.  Glass stone in good condition.
