THIS PIECE HAS BEEN SOLD.

This is a special little brooch, made in the late Georgian period circa 1810 and it's called a fichu brooch, or lace brooch.  If you search what a fichu is it is immediately recognizable to any lover of period movies and you will know exactly how this brooch was used!  This is a particularly rare as it is designed as tulip, set with natural seed pearls representing tears and a lock of hair under glass in the center.  Most likely this was a mourning brooch, worn in remembrance of a loved one.  It is carefully and delicately made and has been well-taken care of for two hundred plus years.

Measures 1 x 5/8".

Not stamped or signed but tested.

In immaculate antique condition, all pearls appear original and pin back works perfectly.
